The Community Schools program establishes Community-Parent School Coalitions in order to mobilize communities and to create a sense of ownership and responsibility for community education and serve as new models of community engagement. The program focuses on building dynamic community-school partnerships to support participatory approaches to education, create a sense of ownership and responsibility, and making the school a community hub that brings together the students, teachers, and parents, and promote innovative and sustainable use of the school space.

The program was built to advocate the culture of shared responsibility towards education and continuous professional development in schools by raising community awareness of the shared culture and work towards building the capacity of students, teachers, and community members. The program includes establishing a community of parents’ school coalitions (CPSCs), and institutionalizing sustainable learning and co-curricular programs.
