Built on the premise that all great teachers are lifelong learners, “Teach Like a Champion 2.0” is a research driven continuation of the ideal that the best teachers are continually striving to improve their craft and enhance the quality and effectiveness of their teaching skills.  The techniques and strategies of TLaC 2.0 have evolved from the original through a process of continuous learning author Doug Lemov calls a Virtuous Cycle: “give teachers a good thing and they make it better, smarter, faster”.[1]

“Teach Like a Champion 2.0” introduces 62 techniques to help teachers raise the behavioral and academic expectation of their students. The program is a complete update to the earlier version with ideas from classroom management to inspiring student engagement, the program enables educators to perfect their teaching practices right away.

The “Teach Like a Champion 2.0” program is offered in both Arabic and English languages and the book has been fully adapted and published in Arabic.

Teach Like a Champion 2.0 is A brand-new structure emphasizing the most important techniques and step-by-step teaching guidelines. The program is built on four main modules:

  • Check for Understanding (3 Day Workshop): This module is devoted to assessing student understanding. The techniques presented in this course outline how teachers can gather data through questioning and observation strategies that show how to build a culture of error in your classroom.
  • Academic Ethos (4 Day Workshop): This module highlights the importance of seeking the maximum level of academic rigor from students during a lesson. Key factors that help determine the level of rigor in a lesson—the content you teach and how deep you go—will be presented by concrete actions that build rigor through a variety of techniques.
  • Ratio (3 Day Workshop): This module allows teachers the opportunity to explore and develop skills in two (2) types of Ratio—Participation Ratio: breadth and frequency of student engagement and participation within a lesson; and Think Ratio (depth of student engagement in the information they are sharing). The premise of this course is built on the ideal that rigorous thinking requires a commitment from teachers and students.

  • Principles of Classroom Culture (4 Day Workshop): This module focuses on behavior and culture. This workshop presents, more clearly the two critical points teachers must understand in building classroom culture: first, that the purpose of order in the classroom is to promote academic learning; second, that great culture entails doing far more than just eliminating disruptions.
